A HISTORY OF INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS

It all started in 1981. An CSI-A was organized for the first time at the Porto Caras resort in Chalkidiki in Northern Greece

In 1991, the Hellenic Equestrian Federation, after its formation, organized a CSI-A at the National Equestrian Centre (former Cavalry Centre) in Goudi, in downtown Athens. This event then became an annual CSIO serving for ten years as the Final of the Central European League for the Nations Cup and World Cup Series.

In addition to the CSIO taking place non-stop until 2011, a number of other international competitions have been organized by the HEF in Athens and in Greece, including the Mediterranean Games 1994, the European Jumping Championship for Juniors and Young riders in 2006, the European Jumping Championship for Children in 2008, the Onassis Equestrian Events (CSI3*, CSI5* and CSIO4*-W ) and a number of Balkan Championships.
